Cement Jewelery

One of my favorite materials is cement. Through the right mixture with water and the ideal mold, you can get beautiful pieces like these!

First step is to choose the shape you want to give to your piece. You can use cardboard boxes, plastic packaging or make your own molds! If you use plastic molds remember to oil them so you can unframe the pieces easily or you will not be able to unframe them. If you use card you won’t be able to use it again.

Next step is to create the mixture. It is never the same, because it depends a bit on the type of cement you use or if you only use cement and don’t add other types of sand. So, what I would recommend to you is to add water slowly until you get a creamy mixture.

Then it's up to you to decide, or you leave it to the natural, or give the piece an artistic touch, with color to give a more fun look or gold to make it more daring. You can add the color while you do the mixture or if you want you can paint it in the end.

When you finish the mixture and fill the molds you just have to wait for it to dry, it might take more or less 48 hours. After that or you are a lucky one and they came out perfectly or you can sand it to perfect the pieces.
