About the Recipe
Sometimes it's worth spending some time in the kitchen, especially to make pies. There are so many fillings that you can try and that are so delicious, but today I leave you here the Meat and Vegetable Pies. It's not the quickest or simplest recipe to make, but it's worth the time and work. And, in the end, you can delight yourself with this delicious recipe!

Ingredients
2 packages of pie dough
200g meat
2 onion
5 garlic cloves
120g tomato sauce
50 g olive oil
10g white wine
2 carrots
1 leek
1 egg
1 bay leaf
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper
pinch of oregano
Preparation

Step 1
The first step is to prepare the meat, start by grinding it.
Step 2
The second step is to start the sauté and to work on the flavor. Chop two of the garlic cloves and an onion and start sautéing them with the oil for about 5 minutes. To improve the flavor that will be given to the meat, add the tomato sauce, the wine, salt and pepper to your liking and the bay leaf. Leave another 3 minutes in the pan.
Step 3
Then we are ready to start cooking the meat. Add it to the pan, if you want to add some oregano, and let it cook for about 15 minutes.
Step 4
Now, it's time to start cutting the vegetables while the meat cooks, the leek and the carrots. I only used these vegetables but you can use more.
Step 5
Again, after preparing the vegetables, the second step is to start the sauté. Chop the other three garlic cloves and an onion and start sautéing them with the oil for about 5 minutes. If you feel it is necessary, add salt and pepper to your liking, remember that in the end we will mix the meat and the vegetables.
Step 6
Then we are ready to start cooking the vegetables. Add it to the pan and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
Step 7
When both are done you mix them and let them rest, while you prepare the pies. It's the funniest step! But first preheat the oven to 180ºC.
Step 8
First, with a napkin and oil, start by greasing the molds, so that when they come out of the oven the dough comes off and doesn't get stuck in the oven and break your pies.
Step 9
Then you spread out one of the pie doughs and in the shape of a circle, I used a wide glass, cut out several circular shapes and put them in the molds. If you see it is hard to mold the dough you can add a bit of flour to soften it.
Step 10
It's time to fill the pies! With the help of a spoon, fill each pie. Be careful not to overfill them, otherwise when you put the lid on they can burst and that's not the point.
Step 11
Then you spread out the other pie dough and, exactly the same way, cut out several circular shapes, this time to cover your pies. If you want, after covering all the pies, mix an egg and just spread it over the pies.
Step 12
Finally, it's time to put it in the oven for around 30 minutes. After twenty minutes, take a peek, as sometimes, the cooking time depends from oven to oven.
Step 13
At the end of the time, remove the pies from the oven and unmold them without burning yourself. Ready!
One of my next challenges is going to be making my own dough for the pies, but first I'll show you some more fillings.
Enjoy your Meat and Vegetables Pies!
