About the Recipe
The process is simple, but takes time. Like most doughs, this one needs to rest for some time, being a process that we can not rush. In the end, it makes all the difference!

Ingredients
450 g of flour
100g chopped dried fruits
150 g of sugar
100 g of butter
3 eggs
1 yolk
3 tablespoons of port wine
50 ml of milk
30 g of yeast
a pinch of salt
Orange zest
Powder sugar
Dried fruits
Preparation
Step 1
First, add only 50 g of flour, the yeast and the milk and mix it well. After being well mixed let it rest, covered by a cloth, in a cool and dry place, for about 1 hour.
Step 2
Place the other 400 g of flour on the work surface, forming a mound. Make a hole in the center and pour the softened margarine into pieces, a pinch of salt, the zest, the sugar and the first fermented dough.
Step 3
Knead everything and add the 3 eggs one by one, mixing it until it gets well incorporated.
Step 4
Add the port wine and continue kneading. If you see that it is necessary, add more flour. When it's well kneaded, let it rest for 3 hours.
Step 5
Now incorporate the dried fruits into the mix.
Step 6
Make a ring with the dough, place it on a tray and let it rest for another 15 minutes.
Step 7
Finally, preheat the oven to 180ºC while brushing the cake with the beaten yolk, decorating it with dried fruit and sprinkling it with powdered sugar.
Step 8
Now just take it to the oven for 25 minutes or until it's golden.
